Unfortunately, the reality of life is that people do things they shouldn't do. Often, good people, left unsupervised, make bad decisions. Here are a few instances from around the country:
According to SchoolBusInfo.org, "School buses provide approximately 10 billion student trips per year ---8.8 billion "to-and-from school" trips and an estimated 1.2 billion activity trips. In contrast, transit buses provide only about 5.2 billion unlinked passenger trips each year in the U.S. (i.e. getting to a destination by using a single bus instead of multiple connections)." With that many trips and students, it is not suprising that incidents involving school buses occur. The question is: how many school bus incidents can be prevented given more information and accountability?
Notice that in many of these stories parents and citizens are reacting to articles with concern, anger, and sometimes venom. Safety of the students is the key focus of school bus and student tracking. But, as well, the protection of the school district from inaccurate reports, when they happen, is important as well.

The posting of these articles is merely for the purpose of awareness. We cast no judgement on the individuals involved. The job of school administrators is very difficult and it is impossible to completely ensure the safety and reliability of every employee and student within our nation's school districts. However, School Bus Roster can aide in minimizing the number of casualties and liability issues incurred by school districts.
